Our registration professionals are the first people our patients meet when they come to us for care. Your role is crucial in setting the stage for an exceptional patient experience. Registration professionals work in outpatient and emergency service settings. Working in the outpatient setting, you will assist patients register for services such as X-Ray, Lab, and some surgeries. While working in the emergency department, you will serve patients who have a variety of health care needs including routine illnesses, traumatic injuries, and behavioral health needs. Success factors working in the emergency department include patience, compassion, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to stay calm in stressful and fast paced situations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Compassionately interacting with patients and their families
  
• Accurately entering data into the computer
  
• Verifying insurance coverage
  
• Collecting and processing patient payment obligations
  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Effective communication (verbal and written) skills
  
• Customer service skills
  
• Basic keyboarding and mouse skills
  
• Ability to navigate multiple computer applications/websites in a windows environment
  
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities with attention to detail
  

Preferred Requirements

• Medical and/or insurance knowledge
  
• Experience in revenue cycle in a healthcare setting
