Halifax Health
is seeking a Patient Companion for the Centralized Staffing Office (CSO).
Summary:

This individual provides support for a safe environment for the patient who may be mentally and/or emotionally incapacitated, confused, or at risk of injuring them self or others. The Patient Companion also provides observation of patient activities under the direction of the Registered Nurse assigned to manage the patient’s plan of care.
Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous patient care experience helpful but not necessary
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements
  • Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to all Halifax Health policy and procedure(s)
  • Fosters a caring and healing environment through Patient-Centered Care
  • Attends all required in-services, workshops and/or staff meetings
  • Participates in performance improvement strategies
