Part-Time Social Media Monitor (Night)

The Junior Social Media Monitor is a part time position that is responsible for managing conversations across multiple social channels. Daily responsibilities include community listening, engagement/conversation, influencer identification, and issue escalation to clients. A monitor is expected to:

  • Respond to all incoming Facebook, Twitter and Instagram messages in a timely and personalized fashion.
  • Understand and efficiently use BCV’s proprietary tools that empower a monitor to react quickly and appropriately to messages across accounts and social networks.
  • Responsibly escalate issues by sending clients email alerts through BCV’s monitoring tools and following up on those email alerts to make sure all situations are handled appropriately.
  • Dependably adapt to the protocol and the voice of written messages for specific accounts.
  • Be held accountable for the written quality of their messages and the timeliness of their responses.
  • Communicate often with their peers online who share the same message workload.Call in or attend monthly monitor meetings to participate in trainings, monitor updates and provide feedback.
  • 0-2+ years of professional work experience (experience at interactive, advertising, marketing agency, or as a copy writer preferred).
  • Must have active accounts across key social media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. (You will be asked to provide access to accounts you have established and maintained.)
  • Possess background knowledge and a true passion for the social media marketing space.
  • Must have strong writing/grammatical skills as well as ability to present information and ideas logically and clearly; keen eye for detail also required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
  • Collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse team full of opinions and ideas.
  • Required training in the office for a week before beginning their first shift
  • Shifts are overnight – Work two weekend shifts and one to two weekday shifts, totaling about 20-26 hours of work a week
  • Work with their own desktop or laptop at home with a fast internet connection
