Part-Time IT Help Desk

St. Nicks Alliance, a North Brooklyn community based organization, seeks an energetic, motivated, knowledgeable, and experienced manager to serve as a part-time IT Helpdesk for the organization’s Information Technology Office. The IT Help Desk will provide support to over 175 Staff members and several computer labs across several locations in North Brooklyn.

The IT Helpdesk should be an invested individual who will contribute to our team and be responsible for implementation, maintenance and the support of IT Systems and solutions. He or she will report to the Deputy Director of IT for St. Nicks Alliance.

We are currently looking for a skilled part-time IT Helpdesk. Please read all job details before applying.

Must be punctual and have previous IT working experience.

Position requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Information Systems, Education in IT or in a related field, with 1-2 years of job related experience; Prior experience providing IT Support and serving as a Network Administrator; Understanding and ability to perform best practices in IT administration; Experience providing and addressing customer service; Excellent documentation, organizational, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Must have proven ability to work as part of a team, be able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Overview: Employee must:

-Have 1-2 years of experience

– Be able to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.

– Be able to document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems. – Be able to perform a variety of complicated tasks.

– A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

– Have a flexible schedule and be able to lift 50 Lbs.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s in Technology/IS/IT

– Desktop and Laptop support

– Good communication

– Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

– Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites 2010/2013

– Understanding of clients’ individual needs

– The ability to work in a highly visible, fast paced environment, with minimal supervision and high responsibility

– Ability to work in a team and alone

– Ability to understand and solve problems through standard methodologies

– Ability to prioritize and multitask during daily activities

– Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System including (Windows 7, Server 2008 and 2012)

– Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory – Desktop PC applications and Windows Network Applications

– Setup new employees on server and on workstations with Active directory

– Setup Network device on network

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Being able to address and resolve IT related incidents and requests; log all incidents and requests in the helpdesk system; engage other IT staff members to resolve incidents that are beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility

– Being able to Provide first tier technical support for over 300 users in all of St. Nicks’ locations.

This position will pay up to $15/Hr
