PART-TIME ACCOUNTING/BOOKKEEPING TEMPORARY POSITION

Temporary position with the possibility of extension based on work volumes. Two days a week during school hours with the option for flexibility Total of 10-15 hours per work week (Monday-Friday) Onsite position, located at 34 West St., Lawrence, MA 01843 $30/hr., no benefits Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Temporary staff member will perform general ledger entries, assist as needed with monthly close-outs, as well as grant reconciliations for the Lawrence Family Development Inc. and its affiliated organizationsthe Lawrence Family Development Charter School, the Maria del Pilar Quintana Family Center and the Alternative Youth Programs. RESPONSIBILITIES: ??Thorough understanding of accounting principles and monitoring data in QuickBooks desktop software by program class codes, job funding sources and timelines: ??This Accounting/Bookkeeping Temporary Position will assist the Director of Finance to: Verify coding consistency of revenue and expense entries with established procedures and resolving any discrepancies with the Director of Finance or Grant Managers.

Review the movement of grants received and expenditures as it aligns with grant budget funding line items. Review budgets entered by account, class and jobs. Assist the Director of Finance with the allocation of payroll entries from Harpers payroll into Quickbooks. Scan and electronically attach supporting documentation to the entries in Quickbooks.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or beyond preferred Quickbooks experience required. Certified Quickbooks Pro Advisor a plus Nonprofit experience preferred – ability to reconcile multiple cost centers which operate on varied timelines Intermediate to advanced computer experience required Reliability, good attention to detail, strong communicator Interested applicants should include a cover letter explaining relevant experience and details of work with fundamental bookkeeping.
