Part-time Accountant

Are you an experienced staff accountant looking for flexibility and part-time, without the uncertainty of temp or contract work? Then this might be just what you’ve been looking for!

Tensoft, Inc., is looking for a part-time Accountant to be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operational accounting duties, month-end close, and preparation of the monthly financial analysis reports. Depending on experience – and special projects – this will be a great opportunity for someone looking for about 16-24 hours/week on a regular, on-going basis.

Oh, and did we mention flexibility ? We know how important that is, so we’ll say it twice – this position offers flexible hours/days !

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare accounting related entries to numerous sub-ledgers and journals.
• Follow and improve on the company’s established accounting policies.
• Support accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and timeliness of vendor and customer activity.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and provide detailed analysis and reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts.
• Keep current all customer recurring billing schedules (including terms and pricing) current.
• Prepare payroll allocation entries, include benefits and tax.
• Onboarding of new employees in HR system.
• Order and maintain license audit for ERP systems sold by Tensoft.
• File business insurance applications as required.
• Prepare financial reports for management review.
• Assist with month-end close.
• Special projects, as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Exceptionally strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience with an ERP system (other than QuickBooks). Microsoft GP or NAV a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle change effectively.
