Packaging & Processing Manager

Packaging and Processing Manager In this role you will oversee the functions and people of processing (trimming, bucking) and packaging to ensure consistent supply of NorCal finished cannabis flower goods. The Packaging and Processing Manager is tasked with ensuring the necessary weekly and monthly packaging, bucking and trimming schedules are up to date and visible to all divisions for planning purposes. This position works with Cultivation, Supply Chain, Distribution and Compliance. Additionally, it is imperative that production orders are completed in the ERP & Metrc systems and that inventory is on hand and allocated for all projects ahead of time.

This is a full time position with an office located at the Santa Rosa campus reporting to Sr Director of Production Operations.
Roles & Responsibilities

  • Works cross functionally with cultivation, distribution and product teams to ensure prioritization of flower processing and packaging projects
  • Staff; train and manage the processing and packaging teams on all processes, including safety and compliant handling of product and direct management of the Packaging Lead and Processing Lead
  • Help develop, execute and update Standard Operating Procedures for all processing and packaging processes
  • Maintains, oversees and operates manufacturing equipment
  • Manages schedules and timelines for staff of processing and packaging teams
  • Maintains regular communication with product, production & distribution to maintain minimum and maximum levels of supply inventory; Ensure that the necessary jars, bags, boxes, tubes, labels and any other packaging materials are available for the projects in queue and coordinate schedules with product team to ensure par levels are maintained
  • Work cross functionally to ensure proper costs are being tracked and updated; Timely reporting, monitor performance of individuals and the team as a whole, and maintain records of daily/weekly/monthly analytics
  • Oversee inbound, work-in-process and outbound product through SAP production/work orders and also in Metrc.
  • Work with management to ensure proper costs are being tracked
  • Track finished goods inventory to target levels to ensure availability
  • Coordinate with respective production teams to execute on a daily, weekly and monthly schedule.
  • Fulfill reporting requests in a timely manner
  • Accountable for maintaining cost units per hour on jarring, bagging, joint rolling, etc.
  • Coordinate with the art team to produce and receive batch label art for all tested products in the packing pipeline
  • Maintains up-to-date understanding of line office operations and procedures needed to comply with aspects of cannabis law and regulation, as provided by the Compliance Department and Line Office Management, and follows such operations and procedures
  • Maintains timely and accurate records concerning commercial cannabis activities, including the provision of data for entry in the CCTT-Metrc database
  • Train and manage staff in the processing division on all protocol, including quality, safety and compliant handling of product
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • What we need

  • Experience with managing a large workforce, preferably in cannabis processing and/or packaging
  • Experience with Metrc preferred
  • Ability to physically report into our Santa Rosa facility
  • Proficient in data analysis, ERP, Google Suite and all company tools used today or in the future
  • Must be organized and detail oriented, strong with communication skills, multitasking and time management
  • Ability to to lift up to 50 lbs.
