Oracle-Db2 Database Administrator

DBA level I specializing in DB2/Oracle/MySQL

Only Local to Phoenix, AZ

Non-negotiable skills needed for a worker to hit the ground running:

o Proven, hands-on Oracle and DB2 database administration skills (not DB development – that’s another skillset)

o Prefer also some MYSQL DB administration skills

o Oracle should be version 10, 11 as 12 / DB2 = versions 9 and 10

Desirable soft skills:

o Excellent, proven oral and written communication skills

o Ability to work independently

o Good critical thinking skills

JOB DESCRIPTION: Database Administrator I

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA or BS in Computer Science, Technology, or Business discipline or equivalent experience is required.

• 1-4 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field is required.

• General understanding of Infrastructure and relative technologies.

• General understanding of network connectivity and protocols.

One or more of the following sets of qualifications:

• 2+ years experience with Windows Server operating systems or Linux/UNIX operating systems is required.

• 1+ years experience with Microsoft SQL or Oracle environments is required.

• Basic understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.

• Basic understanding of, and experience with, relational database environments.

• Exposure to shell scripting to automate routine DBA tasks.

• Ability to work with other technical leaders within the organization.

• Ability to multi task in a fast paced work environment.

• Must be able to work independently as well as work with the team when needed.

• Demonstrates a customer service approach to service delivery and effectively communicates with our customers on requests and incidents.

• Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills in prioritizing and executing assigned tasks.

• Project management methodologies and tools (MS Project).

• Development effort estimation techniques.

• Keeping technologically current and learning new technologies.

• Team player who will work close in team environment.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines.

• Experience working in a large complex networking environment is required.
