About the Role

An Optometrist will be a catalyst for the transformation of how medical providers communicate, share information and inspire their patients to live the healthiest life possible. This will be a very unique practice environment that embodies the practice and techniques of integrated medicine, as well as Crossover Health’s mission to deliver next generation care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides primary vision care.

Examine eyes to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases.

Tests patients visual acuity, depth and color perception and the ability to focus and coordinate the eyes.

Prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses and provides vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation.

Analyzes test results and develops a treatment plan. Administers drugs to patients to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribe drugs to treat eye diseases.

Provide preoperative and postoperative care to cataract patients as well as to patients who have had laser vision correction or other eye surgery.

Diagnoses conditions caused by systemic disease such as diabetes and high blood pressure, referring patients to other health practitioners as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

O.D. licensed to practice in CA required.

Education: Graduate of accredited school of Optometry.

Skills: Must have excellent computer skills and familiarity with Apple products (iMac, iPad, iPhone). Reading, writing and excellent oral proficiency in the English language.

Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.

Strong organizational and follow-through skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated success in patient centered practice.

REPORTING

The Optometrist reports to the Medical Director at the Facebook Wellness Center.
