OPS Web Developer

The Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC) is seeking a full-time web developer to join our team. As a part of IFAS, PREC develops systems that characterize the efficacy of water and energy conservation programs, and expose these insights through web-based applications and data.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated proficiency with one or more programming languages (including JavaScript), HTML5, CSS, and modern programmatic web design.

• Analysis, design, implementation, and documentation of web-based applications and data
• Emphasis on analytics and visualization
• Including geo-visualization with Leaflet or similar libraries.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and one year of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Proficiency with:

•Web-based programming & development

•JavaScript, HTML5, CSS

•Working with CSV, JSON, XML data

•Working knowledge of both Unix and Windows operating systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work independently under limited supervision. Highly proficient problem solver and naturally collaborative through open design, documentation, and communication. Affinity for working with small, highly motivated and empowered teams. Knowledge of, exposure to, or experience with the following:

• jQuery
• Bootstrap
• Perl, Python, PHP
• Leaflet.js
• D3.js, Highcharts
• Dc.js, crossfilter.js
• CSV, JSON, XML data processing and exchange
• RESTful APIs
• SQL, (relational) databases
• Amazon Web Services
• Minor Unix system administration
