OPS Quality & Customer Assurance Business Manager

Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.

Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function. Job Duties Include: Manages complex financial projects for the OPS Enterprise Solutions organization. Counsels business leaders on financials and expense management, recommends approaches for executing plans and develops creative solutions Develops and drives comprehensive business spend plan recommendations, based on complex data, analysis, emerging trends, and experience.

Responsible for the development of key planning processes and tools that result in higher engineering productivity and timely product development. Ensures coordination and integration of planning and expense management processes across the entire OPS organization. Resolves cost, design, and schedule conflicts with cross-functional influence. Responsible and accountable for creating and managing R&D Budget and LTP spending plans.

Implement and maintain robust R&D expense management process to meet Budget. Influence expense prioritization. Responsible for establishing, gathering and furnishing product-related expense data analysis to ensure funding and investment aligns with program/business plans. Responsible for facilitating and documenting OPS Business plans relative to projects, people and dollars.

Provide investment analysis and recommendations to influence product/portfolio decisions. Provide guidance, direction and focus to assist R&D teams in executing deliverables, solutions and programs to meet business requirements. Optimize the contribution and coordination of hiring activities, people and processes, specifically managing within the expense and headcount infrastructure. Identifies and/or develops key analytical tools, models, and methods to enable robust data management.

Education and Experience Required Typically 10+ years total experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area. Advanced university degree required (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience. Knowledge and Skills Required Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills. Extensive knowledge of how to analyze business problems using Excel and financial modeling.

Superior business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and influencing skills. Excellent project management skills, including leading large, cross-functional initiatives that impact the organization. Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.

Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead multiple, large, time sensitive projects or work streams .
