OPO Market Coordinator

REI’s Outdoor Programs is a fast paced, fun, and innovative team. Over the next couple of years we are working together toward doubling the number of participants we engage through inspiring outdoor experiences while also tightening REI’s connection in the local community. Here are some responsibilities of our OPO Market Coordinators:

Assists Manager in development of Outdoor Programs and Outreach Market Plan in alignment with national plan

Coordinates scheduling and execution of Outdoor Programs and Outreach Market Plan

Leads and coordinates Local Social Media

Develop and cultivate relationships with local non-profits, clubs, and organizations in alignment with achieving national and local objectives

Responsible for ensuring effective use of Outdoor Program and Outreach financial resources

Collects feedback and evaluates ROI on programs to improve future plans

Build positive and beneficial relationships with REI store teams to ensure support of Outdoor Programs and Outreach Programs

Produce local marketing materials to promote programs

REI Outdoor Programs & Outreach helps people experience the outdoors through education and by making it easy for people to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. We provide entry-level to intermediate-level outdoor education programs in everything from Rock Climbing to Kayaking to Mountain Biking to Navigation (and more!). Here are some skills we look for in out OPO Market Coordinators:

3+ years’ experience in coordinating outdoor and community engagement programs (outdoor education, volunteer events, outdoor recreational events and activities)

3+ years’ experience in event production/execution

1+ year experience in business-focused social media program execution

1+ year experience in managing budgets

Passion for preserving and recreating in the outdoors

Strong identification with REI’s customer service philosophy; ability to effectively resolve difficult customer issues

Mid-level PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Publisher
