The Data Analyst/Quality Control Role:
Oseberg places high value on the quality and timeliness of the data presented to our users. Our users make business decisions based upon the belief that they can rely on the data we present. The Data Analyst/Quality Control is responsible for ensuring that our data, and the operational processes that create and modify that data, meet the quality standards upon which our clients rely and the requirements established by Oseberg’s Data Governance policies.

The Data Analyst will:

  • Be accountable for the timeliness, integrity, and quality of data for which they are responsible
  • Have Authority to make decisions regarding the data collection processes and the quality of the data for which they are responsible
  • Be responsible for the calculation and communication of data quality KPIs
  • Be expected to provide input and make recommendations about Oseberg Data Governance
  • Be a self-starter and team player with ability to adapt to changing environment

Responsibilities:
The daily responsibilities of the Data Analyst/Quality Control include:

  • Reviewing newly created data to ensure its accuracy and compliance with Oseberg Data Governance policies
  • Maintaining relationships with 3rd party data acquisition companies to communicate procedures and feedback on the process of data acquisition and ensure compliance with terms of agreements
  • Analyze and evaluate new source data opportunities and make recommendations to leadership team regarding quality, currency, and maintainability
  • Working with the Product Management and Engineering teams to contribute to the design of processes and systems to enhance and automate the data collection process
  • Contributing to the Oseberg data dictionary to ensure clear, consistent, and concise definitions of all data attributes are available internally and externally
  • Testing of new systems and functionality to ensure the accurate presentation of data investigating and resolving critical issues with data integrations and notifying all necessary parties
  • Compare and evaluate alternative solutions to problems with data integrations and select a path forward that best balances Oseberg Data Governance policies with system capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Track record illustrating strong analytical skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management or Software Engineering Business Administration preferred or two years equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Oil and Gas regulatory data, lease records, drilling, and production data experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to use technology tools such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, and VBA is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to converse at a technical level

Oseberg Corporate Headquarters, Oklahoma City, OK

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk, lift, reach, stoop, sit, squat, bend, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and type for extended periods of time up to 10 hours
  • Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds of computer equipment or paper).
