Are you an Operational Readiness (OR) Specialist keen to work for a world-class market leader in OR and continue diversifying your skills?

With more than 20 years’ experience in the delivery of operational readiness for clients in mining, metals, energy and infrastructure, this global engineering company has proven capability to deliver operational readiness strategies and plans from the study phase through to the management and delivery of operational readiness in the execution phase.

From conception through to developing and deploying procedures, systems and workplace tools; this experienced OR team assists businesses deliver faster ramp up in a safe and efficient manner allowing for the smooth, sustained operation of newly created or modified assets.

The team is currently seeking people who are interested in:
Working dynamically and collaboratively with client teams in every OR project

Accessing and using class leading OR systems and operations, as well as industry specific expertise to execute the OR scope of work

The ability to offer tailor-made OR services across the various project phases, to ensure the client’s project business case is reflected in every OR plan

The ability to support the operations beyond the project phase through performance enhancement activities such as reliability and productivity optimisation

Working closely with the company’s Digital Practice – providing digital technology and solutions to positively transform clients’ businesses—across the metals, energy and infrastructure sectors

This role is based in Brisbane and successful candidates will be engaged to work on key project and client teams – as well as actively contributing to the further development of the practice.

Key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

Engaging with clients to identify risks and opportunities

Project Management: Facilitate, lead and/or mentor clients and teams in a dynamic environment to manage and execute OR in areas including: project controls, risk management, quality assurance, OR development and document management processes

Support Clients in the development of suitable OR execution processes which may include (but not be limited to): project controls (e.g. reporting, change management), risk management, quality assurance, OR development and document management processes

Actively lead and manage client engagements and business development activities

Ideal candidates will be self-starters who are able to demonstrate their skills and experience and/or potential in the following areas:

Excellent safety awareness and experience working to industry standards

An Engineering or Mechanical / Electrical Trade background is preferable, consolidated by further tertiary studies

Sensitivity to customer’s needs; with the ability to develop sustainable, open and honest relationships with Clients and colleagues alike

Proficient oral and written communication skills

Team leadership skills and willingness to effectively collaborate with others

Ability to negotiate and influence others to achieve best for project / business outcomes

Demonstrated experience in the use of MS suite and a planning tool such as MS Project

Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business, as well as potentially undertake extended assignments away from home base

Your application will further be strengthened if you also possess:

Cross functional exposure and experience in a range of Client organization roles and responsibilities (i.e. site operations, maintenance, plant operations etc.) their interfaces and interdependencies

Demonstrated site experience (in a supervisory capacity) in areas of Asset Management, Operations or Maintenance

Experience working in a project environment

Demonstrated Client engagement skills (from identifying leads and securing work to maintaining and building Client relationships/networks)

Experience contributing to bids, proposals, and commercial documents (estimates etc.)

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
