Southern New Hampshire University’s traditional campus is seeking a Student Government Office Assistant. The Student Government Office Assistant provides high-quality customer service to the Southern New Hampshire University community. General duties include clerical task such as filing, scheduling meetings, answering calls and assisting students who frequent the office. Employees must, on occasion, be willing to work flexible hours, late nights and weekends. This position also supports the Office of Student Involvement in general, and employees may participate in special projects as assigned. Our student employees are essential in helping us build community and support others finding a sense of belonging at SNHU and getting students involved is essential to this mission. We look to hire students who demonstrate honesty and authenticity.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Accounting for club and organization budgets including data entry, creating and managing accurate spreadsheets, tracking of expenses and deposits, etc.
  • Clerical work including paper and electronic filing as needed
  • Customer Service when interacting with students and clubs, and coverage in Student Involvement Suite when needed
  • Occasional assistance with care for the SGA owned vehicles, i.e. cleaning, maintenance appointments, etc.
  • Project management as assigned
  • Provide world class customer service
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in difficult situations with little supervision
  • Wear appropriately designated and provided attire
  • Must be committed to creating and supporting an inclusive community
  • Attend monthly staff meeting with supervisor and employee appreciation events
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be an enrolled student in an Undergraduate Day or Graduate Day Program at SNHU
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in, or interest in, the field of accounting, and customer -centered environment including telephone etiquette
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Work Hours:

This is a part-time temporary position:

  • The office is open from 8am- 6pm Monday- Friday
  • Employees are expected to work 5- 10 hours per week
