Offensive Security Engineer Intern, Red Team

Facebook is hiring an Offensive Security Engineering Intern for the Red Team. You will work with one of the best offensive security teams in the world, making sure that the data we are trusted to protect is secured to the highest standard. Facebook’s Red Team executes tactical, offensive exercises across Facebook’s physical and digital infrastructure, products, and processes. These exercises drive defensive security teams to continuously improve and prepare for whatever attackers may throw at them. The ideal candidate will have a persistent curiosity to understand not only how something works on a deep, technical level, but also how it can be used for unintended purposes as an attacker. This position will begin in Summer 2021 and offers a plethora of technically intriguing security challenges.   • Design automated, repeatable attack infrastructure
  • Develop custom offensive tooling
  • Develop innovative techniques for various phases of the attack lifecycle (e.g., persistence, execution)
  • Deliver presentation of completed work to members of the Red Team
  • Experience in high level scripting, coding or visualization
  • Strong background in one or more of the following: Windows, Active Directory, macOS, Linux, Mobile (Android, iOS), Web applications, backend services and servers, Advanced networking, virtualization, DevOps and/or cloud infrastructure
  • Competency in one or more of the following areas in security – Network security, Web, desktop and/or mobile application security, Source code review, fuzzing and/or analysis, Reverse engineering, exploit development and/or vulnerability research, Social engineering
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op
