New Business Developer

The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm is a team of dedicated attorneys and legal professionals providing Asset Protection Estate Planning™ and Elder Law services. We desire to make a real difference in the lives of those with whom we work. Our entire team is here to make Elder Law, Estate Planning, Long-Term Care and other important issues as stress-free as possible for our clients. We believe in delivering superior legal service in a comfortable atmosphere with a caring and dedicated office team.

We are currently seeking an experienced New Business Developer to conduct in-person and telephonic initial consultations (ICs) with potential new clients (PNCs) and ultimately close or obtain new clients via signed engagement letters. This position requires a high closing ratio for meeting both personal sales goals and the Firm’s performance goals. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify potential clients and follow up to achieve new business opportunities.
  • Initiate regular and systematic telephone follow up of clients and maintain records using a CRM system.
  • Facilitate initial consultation (IC) meetings. Effectively assess client needs and offer/demonstrate appropriate solutions.
  • Collect information about the PNCs and the matters for which they are seeking the Firm’s help.
  • Follow firm prescribed guidelines on how to communicate with PNCs in the most effective manner: Provide a general description of the Firm’s services in the area that the PNC needs help. Assure the PNCs that the Firm’s attorneys and staff will be able to help them and show compassion for their troubles. Show “tough love” for them by telling them about the reality they may not want to hear when necessary and appropriate.
  • Present community presentations on estate planning.

In accord with the ethical rules governing lawyers, the New Business Developer will not provide legal advice, quote a fee, or enter into a representation agreement with a client. Rather, the position will prepare prospective clients for entering into an engagement with the Owner or other designated attorney.

The selected candidate must be able to keep detailed records about the number of PNCs that contact the firm, the number that come in for initial consultations, and the number that actually engage the firm. The New Business Developer will be responsible for achieving goals in terms of number of new PNCs for the firm each month, in accordance with the firm’s protocol.

The role will also be responsible to stay in contact with PNCs that do not sign up after their initial consultation to keep the door open for them to come in when they are ready.

Job Requirements:

  • Business Degree with 3-5 years’ prior product sales experience including prospecting, qualifying, closing and account management with a proven track record of sales solution skills, with consistent over-achievement of quota and revenue goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills as well as the enthusiasm needed to champion services of the law firm with the ability to consistently bring PNCs to the point of signing a Representation Agreement with the Firm.
  • Willingness and ability to learn a new sales model and apply that model.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed to achieve individual professional goals and the Firm’s goals.
