Job Summary

Performs all aspects of clinical and diagnostic testing relating to the practice of neurodiagnostics to include; electroencephalograms (EEG’s), extended EEGs, nerve conduction studies (NCS’s), and evoked potentials. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist utilizes various monitoring equipment and recording observations to collect diagnostic patient data to aid in the diagnosis of neurological and neuromuscular diseases and disorders. This position demonstrates competence in neurodiagnostics and must be available to provide assistance to all procedures. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist must adhere to all American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET) and American Society of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ASET) national standards.


Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years of work experience in neurodiagnostics
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: CPR Certification.
Required Training: None.


Essential Functions

  • Performs all neurodiagnostic procedures per physician order in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintains records and policies to ensure that all standards for neurodiagnostic certification, lab accreditation and government requirements are met
  • Monitors and evaluates the quality, safety, efficiency, and accuracy of diagnostic tests performed
  • Utilizes, maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all equipment to ensure proper function

  • Ensures adequate supplies are available for performing all diagnostic tests
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Embodies those behaviors, philosophies and values which serve to uphold the ideals and enhance the image of Lexington Medical Center
  • Works in a cooperative manner which fosters favorable relations between employees and patients, patients’ families, visitors, fellow employees, and the medical staff.
  • Maintains CEUs as required by credentials and/or any accrediting bodies over the lab
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
