Network Technician

Sheltering Arms is seeking a Network Technician to help with setting up and maintaining the network structure for all sites within the agency. This individual focuses on the setup, repair, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software products that incorporate the business operation.

Responsibilities Include:

• Pulling, installing, labeling and terminating Cat6 cables for the purpose of data, voice, access point and camera
• Installing CCTV and IP cameras
• Installing and configuring Cisco access point
• Setup remote access to DVR system
• Create user access to DVR system
• Install, configure and test network switches
• Performing troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
• Creating and resolving tickets and requests for staff
• Creating Site’s Plans Diagram

Requirements

• BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering; or relevant field or 5+ relevant experience
• Proven experience as network engineer or relevant position
• 2+ years of experience with cable installation required
• Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communications skills
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
• Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to complete all standard administrative and support tasks including but not limited to climbing up and down stairs and ladders, operation of computers/phones/fax/printer/copy machine, and the ability to lift boxes, furniture, and equipment up to 30lbs.
