Network Implementation Engineer

Stratford Solutions is assisting their client with finding a Network Implementation Engineer to add to their team located in Manhattan, NYC.

This is a full-time, direct hire, W2 position with our client.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, deployment, and escalated problem resolution, for a large service provider network infrastructure
• Work with internal/external clients, operations/systems, financial exchanges, and other Network Engineers to design, automate, research and develop, investigate and solve system issues, and participate in business analysis.
• Ensure stability of all client Network Services
• Construct valid configurations for implementation based upon design and/or technical concepts
• Support deployment and maintenance of network switches, routers, firewalls, and other network appliances
• Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes
• Perform peer review of configurations scheduled for deployment
• Perform network infrastructure changes in a diligent and professional manner
• Installation of network hardware and software
• Participate in an on-call rotation for support escalations
• Participate in daily meetings to review changes and underlying impacts
• Communicate effectively with clients and other teams to nurture the lifecycle of projects
• Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when required

Skills and Experience Required:

• 3-5 years of experience working on network equipment in an ISP style environment or a large NOC
• 2-3 years of experience with Juniper, Arista, and/or Cisco hardware and software
• CCNP certified or equivalent level of knowledge
• Advanced understanding and deployment experience in the following technologies:
• IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP)
• Firewalls (VPNs, Policies)
• Scripting in Bash or Python
• Familiarity with Linux
• Understanding of JIRA as a ticketing system
• Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• Multicast Routing (IGMP, PIM)
• NAT (Static, Dynamic)
• Network Sniffers (TCP/IP Analysis)
• Diligent and highly detail orientated
• Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve issues in a highly charged financial environment
• Clear verbal and written communicator
• Capable of prioritizing and managing a high workload
• Driven self-starter and self-motivation are key
• Keen to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop
• Interested in cutting edge technology
• Driven to develop own skills and knowledge
