Job Summary

Administers assigned enterprise application software system(s) and interfaces by providing maintenance, configuration, design, support, security, testing, upgrades and monitoring, to ensure reliability and optimal performance. Works closely with external vendors, business analysts, business leaders, end users, and infrastructure support personnel, to ensure systems meet the functional goals of the organization. Assists in planning for future applications system needs and capacity requirements.

Essential Functions

50% – Establishes, updates, and maintains application configuration settings; enters controlling parameters and data as necessary, to administer the application(s) and ensure optimal performance; works closely with external vendors, business analysts, business leaders, end users and infrastructure support personnel, to design solutions and ensure systems meet the functional goals of the organization; designs and/or modifies systems and interfaces; performs software installation and system problem solving

25% – Performs daily monitoring of the application and its use, analyzes and resolves problems, and works cooperatively to create an appropriate ongoing maintenance schedule; collaborates with hardware, OS, DBA, and technical teams to ensure optimal performance of the application

15% – Works closely with application vendor (if appropriate) to understand the life cycle of the application and assist in implementation of new patches, upgrades and releases

10% – Takes initiative to escalate long standing or unresolved issues, communicates status and facilitates the change management process

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or directly related field and one year of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

1. Five (5) or more years of enterprise applications administration experience.

2. Five (5) or more years of experience overseeing resources, products, and vendor relationships

3. Three (3) or more years of experience working with an enterprise DBMS, i.e. Microsoft SQL*Server or Oracle

4. Experience supporting performance metrics / Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

5. Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and standards, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT)

6. Experience working with large-scale ERP solutions such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP etc

7. Experience with applications security administration

Special Working Conditions

Some evening or weekend hours may be required.
