Network Administrator

Infrastructure Network Administrator is responsible for support and maintenance of the infrastructure environment. Also provides Help Desk tier 1 and tier 2 support using superior customer service in a help desk environment. Supports both local and remote users of all skill levels via phone, email or in person. Provides solutions in a timely manner, documenting all issues and resolutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setup and maintain all end-user active directory accounts for new, existing and departed employees.
  • Develop and maintain software loads and processes for all company PC, laptop and Virtual desktop systems for both corporate and field use.
  • Build and configure new and replacement PC, laptop and virtual desktop systems for both corporate and field end-users utilizing full-build, imaging and remote install methods, including physically moving and installing equipment.
  • Maintain corporate IT hardware inventory and software licensing.
  • Assign, configure and provision corporate and field phones, voicemail and cellular devices.
  • Provide first point of contact and ticket escalation ownership for major company applications, including but not limited to: Office applications, MS Exchange and Outlook, IT solutions knowledgebase, and PACS/Clear Canvas.
  • Ability to provide support assistance for Network Administrator on basic networking tasks, including but not limited to: daily backups and restore requests and data center cabling.
  • Ability to support all tasks required by Infrastructure Tier I technicians, including Tier I mentoring and ownership of ticket escalations from Tier I.
  • Promptly and professionally resolve workstation, printer, phone and other computer-related support calls for software, hardware or connectivity issues in person, via phone or via email.
  • Provide superior customer service demonstrating professionalism, helpfulness, and care to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Support office users, remote users, field technicians and clients in the use and operation of custom and off-the-shelf services provided by Examinetics.
  • Document all support requests (regardless of source), actions taken, and the resolution.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support, on rotation with other support staff, approximately every 3 weeks.

    Other evening and weekend work, though rare, is possible, particularly near year-end field PC refresh.
  • Ensure Examinetics meets all Service Level Agreements with customers, both internal and external.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in an IT support environment with hands on Help Desk experience, required.
  • Extensive experience with a range of core workstation applications on Microsoft Windows operating systems, required.
  • Superior knowledge and ability to support Microsoft Windows XP and Win7, required.
  • Superior knowledge and ability to support Microsoft Office applications, required. OpenOffice knowledge a plus.
  • Superior knowledge and ability to support browser applications, such as Internet Explorer, Chrome and Fire Fox; understanding of the functional differences between browsers.
  • Superior knowledge and ability to support basic workstation and portable hardware, software and networking.
  • Superior phone and customer service skills, ability to troubleshoot and explain complex issues and deliver resolutions to non-technical individuals over the phone.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, required.
  • Superior interpersonal and team skills, required.
  • Superior documentation and reporting skills, required.
  • Ability to mentor and support tier I technicians, as necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task, required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, required.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and self-sufficient required.
  • Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, ITIL and HDI Certifications preferred.
