Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

St. Luke’s Neonatology in Idaho is seeking an NNP to join 10 BC Neonatologists and 10 NNPs to assist with coverage of our three (soon to be four) St. Luke’s NICUs. This position is primarily based at the Level IV NICU in Boise, Idaho. An additional position is available in Twin Falls, Idaho, which is in the process of expanding its scope of coverage to Level III status.

I t ma i n t ains an A D C of 37 and appr o xim at ely 9 0 0 ad m i s sio n s per year. NN P s provide dai l y rou n ding s upport a n d i n – h o use night co v erage with an in-house Neonatologist at this f a ci l ity. Our L e vel II N I C U is lo c ated 1 0 m i les a w ay in Merid i an, Id a ho, a n d th i s 1 2 – b ed fac i l i t y w as f u l l y r eno v ated i n 2007. NN P s a ss i st w ith w e e kend c over a ge a n d ho m e c a ll at the Merid i an f a ci l i ty . Coming in fall of 2017 will be our new Nampa facility with 8 private NICU rooms and 7 NICU/LDRP Family Care Suites.

The Children’s Hospital provides a full complement of Pediatric Subspecialty services with the exception of ECMO or complex congenital heart surgery. The program is supported by a skilled Obstetrical department including 4 full time MFM specialists.

Responsibilities:
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP), under the supervision of a neonatologist, is responsible for planning care, presenting patients on rounds, and writing orders for aspects of care for any assigned neonates in the NICU. Fulfill the responsibilities defined in the agreement between NNP and St. Luke’s.

Qualifications:
1. Graduation from a School of Nursing, passing results on the certification examination administration by an organization recognized by the Idaho Board of Nursing, and a Nurse Practitioner Program with current RN, APRN and controlled substance licensure from Idaho.

2. Current, unrestricted DEA certificate.

3. Current national certification as NNP. Exception: Flex NNPs will not be required to maintain Idaho Controlled substance licensure or unrestricted DEA certificate.

4. Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension/expression.
