Music Supervision and Programming Intern (Summer)

New York, NY

Dates of Internship: June 4, 2018 – August 17, 2018

Job Purpose: The Music Supervision and Programming Intern works closely with our in-house team to support the music supervisors in creating and maintaining various playlists for high profile background music clients as well as on-jukebox programming. The candidate will have the opportunity to be hands on with everything from the playlist creation to client installation. Using our internal tools, they will learn how to efficiently take a client’s creative scope and turn it into a fully developed, cohesive music program. They will help to research various music charts and publications to ensure the most current and popular music is being utilized across all of our playlists. The position will also work with our Marketing, Operations and Licensing departments to learn about Music Promotions, Catalog Management, Rights Clearance, and Royalties.

Responsibilities:
Training under both, the Director of Music Programming and the Creative Manager

Supports music supervisors efforts in creating playlists and supporting the different music needs across our various platforms (Jukebox and Background)

Organize and maintain internal music reference library

Supports Music Tech team in efforts to and field and address minor technology related questions

Special projects, as needed

Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled at a college/university

Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Deep understanding of and familiarity with various streaming and terrestrial music programs (Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, etc.)

Required Skills/Competencies:
Must be a team player and display a positive attitude

Strong communications skills and an eagerness to learn

Strong organizational skills

Strong passion for all different genres of music, DJ-ing and branding

Special Position Requirements:
Must be available June 4th – August 17th

Must be able to intern at least 16-29 hours per week

Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

Preferences:
Interest in entertainment/music/technology industries preferred

Preference will be given to juniors and seniors at a college/university

Work Requirements:
Ability to sit for more than 6 hours, frequently using a computer (visual acuity, fine motor skills) and telephone (talking/hearing)

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

Must be authorized to work in the US and must be at least 18 years old
