MongoDB Database Administrator

About the Position:
Clearwater is looking for a talented and experienced Database Administrator to maintain MongoDB instances and infrastructure for a massive, high-throughput transactional system.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, a creative problem solver, driven to learn and interested in becoming our MongoDB ‘go to’ person. He or she must be organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in an agile environment with fast-changing priorities. Our top priority is ensuring that the servers remain stable, reliable, and recoverable as the database platform and applications evolve.

This is a full-time position based in Boise, Idaho. The Database Administrator will work closely with the entire development organization, third-party vendors, as well as other departments within Clearwater, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the database environments.

Responsibilities:
Maintain MongoDB instances and infrastructure for a massive, high-throughput transactional system

Troubleshoot performance optimization in MongoDB

Backup and restore procedures for MongoDB databases using various backup strategies

Automate routine tasks with your own scripts and open-source tools

Solve production problems and participate in an on-call rotation

Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience

1-3 years of experience maintaining web applications is a plus

1-3 years of experience MongoDB database administration and/or development

Experience with ETL tools is a plus

Highly organized, self-starter with an eye for detail who can maintain multiple ongoing projects simultaneously

Must be a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
