Position Summary The Infrastructure Middleware Engineer is responsible for supporting Middleware analysis, design, development, testing, training, implementation and support for legacy, current, and future technologies leveraging EDI Technologies, IBM B2Bi, and Oracle’s Fusion Middleware. This position will provide technical and functional support to other IT personnel in the performance of Middleware and EDI development and support efforts. This resource will work closely with Information Technology and business personnel to understand business objectives and requirements and evaluate or design Middleware and EDI technologies to meet business needs across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT related, with a minimum of five plus years of progressive IT experience; or Associates degree with equivalent work experience

Three plus years of experience with systems analysis experience supporting ERP environments in a manufacturing industry

Three plus years of experience with ERP systems and multi-platform environments

Three plus years of experience with Oracle or similar RDBMS database and application design and support

Three plus years of experience working with integrated systems in a manufacturing environment

Experience in implementing 3rd party packaged applications or application suites and associated hardware

Analytical and problem-solving abilities in diagnosing and resolving Application, Integration, and RDBMS support initiatives

Project management skills in leading Business and IT initiatives

Ability to build relationships and provide solid customer service across both functional and technical areas of the business

Demonstrated communication skills in working with both functional and technical teams at various levels in the business

Strong interpersonal skills, embrace change in a positive and enthusiastic manner

Strong architecture and technical support documentation skills.

Participate in on-call and after-hours application and end user support as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or other technology related field

Five or more years of systems analysis experience supporting ERP environments in a manufacturing industry

Five or more years experience with ERP systems in an Oracle E-Business Suite or similar environment

Five or more years experience with the following as defined by job assignment:

Oracle, SQL-Server, or similar RDBMS architecture experience

Oracle or Microsoft development tools

Oracle Fusion Middleware Administration and Management – Weblogic, SOA, Enterprise Manager

IBM B2B Integrator

ERP Application Suites

Code Repository Version Control

TOAD, jDeveloper, SQL Developer, BI Publisher, and other similar tools

Experience developing or supporting Middleware Technologies in global ERP environment, preferably Oracle E-Business Suite.

Industry expertise in specific business tracks and ERP modules in one or more functional areas (i.e. Financials, Order Mgmt, HRIS, Procurement, Production Planning, Supply Chain Mgmt, etc.)

Previous Project management and leadership experience

Experience leading IT project teams and workgroups

Investment justification and ROI experience

Global systems design and implementation experience

Major Accountabilities

Creates and maintains documentation for middleware system installations and dependencies, changes and upgrades, and maintains compliance based on changes within the industry and/or best practices

Maintain awareness of new technologies and techniques, and expand knowledge of Middleware management, database management, project management, web-based development tools and client/server apps

Implements standardized automation of procedures to mitigate risks associated with manual processing errors

Assist with the creation of documentation and training material for technical support teams and application end users

Develop, implement, test, train and document Middleware systems using approved development methodologies and tools utilizing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Management processes

Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams and systems development projects, providing technical expertise in information technology

Provide subject matter expertise for architecture, planning, and roadmap sessions of Middleware technologies to business and technical resources

Communicate through face-to-face interaction, presentations, progress reports, technical reports, and technical/user documentation to teams and management

Identify, design, and participate in or lead projects associated with IT process and service delivery improvements

Understanding of Cloud solution best practices and integration techniques (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, DaaS)

Engineer secure, workable Middleware solutions aligned with business objectives

Cultivates a team environment that balances risk and creativity in quickly responding to business opportunities

Collaborate with other teams as necessary to ensure customer service levels are met

Lead and/or participate in formal process and continuous improvement efforts

Lead or conduct mission critical special project assignments of both tactical and strategic natures

Aligns Enterprise Middleware objectives to S.M.A.R.T. goals

Enable the tools and training for Middleware Team members

Support priorities and facilitate team activities to achieve development and delivery goals

Support a close working relationship between IT teams and the user community

Document solutions to be handed off to tier I and II support organizations

Provide Tier I and II escalation support
