Microfocus Cobol Administrator

RiverPoint Group has an immediate need for a mainframe administrator for a 6+ month long contract located in Chicago. We are looking for a local candidate experienced in Microfocus cobol. This is a 12+ month long contract located in Rosemont, IL.

Responsibilities:
Microfocus Server Installation and create new regions – batch and online

Enterprise Developer/Server Configuration

General Configuration on Microfocus Server

OLE DB Connection for database – DB2 LUW or SQL server

HCOSS set up and Data Migration execution to DB2 LUW or SQL server

Server configuration setting for optimal performance

Complete active directory security changes from Micro Focus server perspective

Maintain Micro Focus ES regions

Maintain and support Micro Focus servers including start/stop

Upgrade Micro Focus servers for MF software upgrades or hot fixes

Housekeeping processes like clean up spool and logs, trace files

Backups – are related to production server Data only which are part of Microfocus server

Handle connectivity issues with interfacing applications during incident cycles

Printing related issues – configuration and communication with printer servers

Create new user access or give permission if required

CICS resources definition, XA setting to database, active directory settings within Micro Focus for security, ES region backups

Change Management – Production go-live support – Load of components in Staging libraries, UAT and PROD

Troubleshooting

Linux OS support as applicable
