Member Account Specialist

Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) is a member-owned, cooperative corporation in charge of picking up and processing nearly 100% of all containers redeemed in Oregon. We pick up from over 2,700 retailers and recycle 1.2 billion containers a year. OBRC is a growing company looking for motivated individuals to join our team and help make Oregon’s bottle bill a continued success.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This position provides analysis and support around corporate membership as it relates to adherence to state legislation. This includes identifying beverage products being sold in Oregon that require a bottle deposit/refund and working with external companies to gain compliance, working with new or existing contracts between beverage distributors and OBRC, and providing customer service as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS Research beverage market companies to identify potential participants for the OBRC. Make contact via phone, mail or in-person, with those candidates identified through research. Coordinate finalizing new distributor participant service agreements and update existing agreements as they expire. Ensure compliance of participants with reporting requirements, which will include: Assisting external accountants in participant reviews. Work with participants and retailers to obtain beverage product database updates. Review beverage product database for completeness and accuracy. Work with Account Representatives to resolve beverage product database issues. Domestic travel approximately 20% of the time to participant and customer offices and retailer locations. Overnight travel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS Computer proficiency and intermediate Microsoft Office Suite. Bachelors general business administration degree, preferred. Demonstrate professionalism in communication and in the office environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Independent, self-motivated, driven and goal-oriented. Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. Pass company drug screen prior to employment in this position. Must not pose a direct safety threat to himself/herself or others.
