A local primary care organization is currently recruiting for full-time Scribes.

This is a full-time position based in Ada County with primary work conducted in the Boise area. Work schedule is Monday – Friday approximately 8:00am to 5:00pm with some possible evening or Saturday work.

Comprehension of medical terminology and the ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals is required. Preferred applicants are bilingual (English / Spanish) and/or are a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant.

Essential Job Functions – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions:

  • Verifies patient information in the health record and confirms purpose of the office visit.
  • Works directly with FMHC Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistances to accurately and efficiently document the provider — patient encounter, including but not limited to: chief complaint, signs and symptoms, treatment plan, test results and care visit summaries and order entry.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following establishing Nursing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; keeping patient information confidential.
  • Actively manage phones and emails.
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information; complies with HIPAA privacy and security protocols; Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Serves the organization by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Courteously and professionally interacts with FMRI patients and the general public.
  • Completes assigned continued education and mandatory compliance training as assigned.
  • Attends scheduled team and interdepartmental meetings as directed.

Additional Job Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides feedback on the development of the FMRI Scribe program and submits recommendations for improvement to the Lead Scribe, HR Manager or the Chief Medical Officer.
  • All other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education : Baccalaureate Degree preferred; RMA/CMA preferred.

Experience : 1 year previous experience as a Medical Scribe, Medical Assistant, CNA; may consider a combination of relevant work experience and education.

Licensure : NA

Preferred Skills

Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills, at least average typing speed (60 WPM or greater) and typing accuracy, comprehension of medical terminology, possess the ability to collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care and have the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Basic computer competency, personal time management skills, and strong detail orientation are required.
