Medical Record Analyst – Health Information Mgmt – HIM – Gainesville

Assembles, analyzes, and reanalyzes discharged patient charts to ensure completion in compliance with Shands Healthcare, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency standards. Maintains accurate information in the deficiency monitoring system and tracks physician record completion. Files records into incomplete physician stacks and permanent file. Provides support to the Patient Record Review committees and onsite chart reviewers as needed. Works with iHIRM to monitor and correct duplicate medical record numbers in HIS. Imports transcribed reports and files reports into medical records.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent. Course in medical terminology or equivalent. Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines. One year medical records experience in a healthcare setting and experience in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access preferred.

Must successfully pass a FBI Level 2 screening for this position
