Media Production Assistant

Kollins Communications is seeking an experienced Media Production Assistant to take a challenging role at one of the more ambitious 4K UHD HDR production shops in America.

Established in 1992, Kollins Communications is a small, creative marketing communications firm located in Ramsey — northern NJ, about twenty miles from Manhattan. We specialize in solving our clients’ needs with innovative approaches to video presentations, e-media, web support, photography, printed materials, trade show and event support — www.kollins.com.

We’ve been focusing on consumer and pro-electronics (digital cameras, home theater, in-car entertainment, 4K UHD TVs) with marketing and training materials, web support, POP and on-site events. Other accounts include beach bars and motorsports for sanity.

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Media Production Assistant is responsible for performing the duties required by the Operations team. The successful candidate should be able to provide support for production schedules (heavy use of Microsoft Office), administer live events, collect/research required media, as well as write and review storyboards, shooting scripts and have a working familiarity with production.

The main objective is to assist all operations members with support in a 24/7 environment. Media Operations produces, ingests, edits, preps, QC’s and delivers content domestically/internationally and relies on the Operations team to solve issues electronically, on the phone and in person. Other responsibilities include providing support for file-based digital workflows including video editing, transcoding, digital file delivery, and live streaming.

This is a role that combines broadcast production/engineering, information technology, and digital media. An ideal candidate will have a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or New Media. This person will like to operate in a crazy, fast paced environment, truly enjoy interacting with customers and vendors, and willing to tackle unique challenges head-on.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of relevant production experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required, working knowledge of Adobe InDesign is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25-40 pounds.
  • Some travel maybe required.

This is a full-time position requiring flexible days and hours. Full benefits.
