Mechanical Engineer

AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support its operations at Tinker Air Force Base (TAFB), Oklahoma, within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Fighter & Bomber Program Executive Office (PEO).

Primary requirements include but are not limited to the following:

  • Possess extensive knowledge and expertise working specific Air Force weapon systems preferably B-1, B-2, or B-52 programs.
  • Apply extensive knowledge and experience of Air Force acquisition and logistics program management policies and procedures to across existing and future AFLCMC aircraft programs and platforms, systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, pre/post award project/program management tasks, and weapons system acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.
  • Apply Air Force military aircraft and weapons system operational knowledge and experience to identify operational and logistical impacts and translate operational requirements into contractual statements of work.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of DOD, AF and common engineering/scientific principles, processes and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems.
  • Apply an understanding of MIL-HDBK-516B, Airworthiness Certification Criteria, to aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Perform technical/mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, assist in developing system concepts and perform technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications.
  • Perform materiel solution analyses leading up to design reviews. Produce or support development of draft documentation and presentation materials as requested or necessitated by programmatic limits based on cost, schedule and performance.
  • Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.

Assist the government in the engineering evaluation of prime and subcontractor recommendations for operational and support issues such as: evaluations of Advance Change Study Notices (ACSNs), ECPs, CCPs, FAA Bulletins, modification proposals, DMS, program risk, and related documents.

Minimum Requirements

  • Shall have a minimum of 15 years of experience and an accredited (such as ABET) Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Must currently possess a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other standard (Customer specified) applications.
