Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is a critical technical resource working closely with other design engineers, sales, and customers. This position works as key technical advisor, adapting existing product and/or creating new product to satisfy varying industry applications, traveling to customer sites to perform initial hands-on installation and analysis, and document installation processes and requirements for future installations. This role offers professional development and access to global opportunities in a high performance environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Articulate product offerings and key features to business and technical users
  • Lead the design and development of new products and adaptations of existing products
  • Travel to customer sites to perform initial installation and analysis
  • Utilize 3D Modeling Software (Creo) to create and analyze designs
  • Create detailed drawings and BOMs of new parts and assemblies as required
  • Coordinate and complete projects and design efforts with other groups and departments
  • Direct and conduct necessary research incidental to designs
  • Develop, maintain, and present project metrics: cost, performance, milestone/timeline as directed
  • Utilize and maintain Six Sigma, DFSS, and Lean tools throughout the design and validation process
  • Document installation process and requirements for use during future sales and installations

Qualifications Required

  • BSME or other applicable 4-year Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree
  • Hands on mechanical experience essential with the ability to perform prototype installations
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Design, Service, or Applications
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software (Creo preferred)
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics and assembly prints
  • Capable of working independently on projects with limited support from others
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Qualifications Preferred

  • 5+ years of related crawler type tractor experience
  • Experience with hydraulics (specifically mobile hydraulics) and mechanical systems
  • Fluid Power and Hydraulic Circuit knowledge
  • Machining, fabrication and casting design experience
  • Proficiency with Creo and Windchill
  • Proficiency with data acquisition systems such as LabView, HyDAQ, or SOMAT
