Job Description

Objective:

Conceive, design, and bring to market, new Additive Manufacturing (AM) Systems utilizing Optomec’s LENS and Aerosol Jet deposition technologies.

Responsibilities:

• In-depth understanding of AM science and technology, both Optomec’s and others
• Understand MRD requirements and how to realize them in a high performance, cost effective, and timely product design
• Leadership of AM System Design Project through New Product Development Phase Gates
• Engineering Support of Manufacturing as required

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
• Ability to work well as a cross-functional team member
• Hands-on lab and troubleshooting
• Communications; written & presentation

Preferred Experience:

• >5 years relevant experience designing complex electro-mechanical systems
• New Product Development, Manufacturing Readiness, and Market Launch
• Managing/Leading Engineering Teams
• Engineering support of manufacturing
• Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturability, Six Sigma, etc.
• Project Management
• Experience in the Additive Manufacturing Industry a plus

Preferred Education:

• BSME or MSME or closely related engineering degree.
