Mechanical Designer II

Primary Responsibilities:

The major responsibilities are summarized below:

• Administration of 3-D modelling system for the company operations
• Provide 3-D modelling of solution concepts with/without Engineer supervision
• Participates in project planning and schedule definition
• Develop knowledge of ABCO equipment design philosophy and technologies
• Provide quality checks and verification of peer and subordinate work functions
• Provide testing requirements, troubleshooting reports, and other documentation in support of the project.
• Shall maintain the accuracy and fidelity of the Drafting Vault
• Shall train other engineering staff in the skill sets of drafting and vault use.
• Generate 3-D model of concepts
• Provide or supervision the of 2-D drafting of concept through prototype completion
• Develop expertise in specific engineering skill sets nominated by management
• Encourage peers to actively pursue new technology areas to the benefit of the Company
• Participate in professional societies and organizations
• Work as a team member of the assigned product group
• Initiate and maintain an active level of personal and professional growth
• This position requires some commercial activities

Work Activities:

To undertake the above responsibilities, the Designer II (A) shall:

Requirements

• Two-year Degree in related technology or 10 years’ experience in drafting /modelling
• Work experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, (5-10 years)
• Familiarity with 3D CAD (AUTODESK Inventor Preferred)
• Requires 10 years of work experience in the industry and work in product area.

Physical Requirements

This position requires some lifting in excess of 30lbs. There may be times that this position may need to travel to offshore rigs which require a certain level of physical fitness. As these requirements change over time, please inquire into the current physical requirements.
