We manufacture complex aerostructure components, parts and assemblies from the full spectrum of traditional and aerospace alloys. We specialize in complex, structural and mechanical assemblies, machined components, and sheet metal fabrication for countless aerospace applications. We currently produce thousands of assemblies and parts that are used in flight controls, fuselage/interior structures, doors, wings, landing gear, struts & nacelles, and cockpits. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Material Manager to join our Wellington, KS team.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

  • Oversee capacity planning activities associated with the Sales and Operations Plan, Master Schedule and Materials Requirement Plan
  • Develop monthly spend forecast for both raw material and outside processing suppliers
  • Lead regular activities and meetings to plan and review metal supply, Hardware supply, Inventory levels and plant capacity.
  • Direct the activity of the Production Control department to ensure operational excellence in order promising/commitments, master scheduling, material delivery, and input/output control, to achieve exceptional performance to customer Commitments.
  • Address demand and supply planning issues elevated by the leadership team for resolution and escalates with the suppliers as required.
  • Drive continuous improvements, to improve key levers like lead times, OTIF, inventory levels, capacity, cost and productivity.
  • Measure and communicate Operations Plan Schedule Attainment and Master Schedule Attainment, and initiate root cause problem solving to analyze variability and improve performance.
  • Design, measure, and communicate metrics that track the effectiveness of production planning and manufacturing execution.
  • Track and control inventory levels that enable TECT to achieve business plan targets for cash flow from operations.
  • Coach and develop all members of the Production Control team through training, mentoring, and the development of consistent planning tools. Provide verbal and written performance feedback on a regular basis. Develop metrics that measure individual planning effectiveness and performance.
  • Develop tools that will provide visibility to shortages and prioritize requirements
  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems in planning and execution, and generate alternatives to resolve both internal and external processing constraints
  • PRIOR EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZED OR TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in Production Control
  • Must have experience working with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work positively and constructively in a team environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate in a plant environment.
  • Must wear safety protective equipment as required.
