Master Linux Driver Storage Stack Developer 1

Req. ID: 118930

In today’s world, solid state technology is revolutionizing the industry. Micron Technology is a big part of that revolution. Come be a part of a leading edge team at Micron Technology as we build state-of-the-art Universal Flash Storage (UFS) and NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory express) tools. (If you’re not familiar with UFS or NVMe, no problem. We don’t expect you to. But just so you know, it’s a supersonic high performance storage interface for tablets and smartphones. If you think your tablet or smartphone is fast today, you haven’t seen anything yet!).

As a member of our team you will develop Linux UFS and NVMe device driver technology that will overcome critical limitations of the existing Linux driver stack. You will develop a device driver that is faster, more robust, and more flexible than what can be attained with today’s technology and you will enable new ways of testing that aren’t yet possible. You will help to build a small team of Linux driver and system experts and you will be instrumental in developing the test and verification processes needed to confirm the stability of your work.

We are a small team of expert C++ devs that are developing a cross-platform API that is used extensively both in and outside our company to verify and qualify our storage products. Our tools sport a python or C++ interface that allows our customers to write code in either of those languages. Your device driver code will be the final building block that will enable us to provide them a state-of-the art tool.

The position is located in Boise, Idaho.

Boise has some of the best whitewater rafting in the country, hundreds of miles of mountain biking trails around town and snow skiing and rock climbing close enough you can go after work. We have numerous reservoirs that are great destinations for water skiing and fishing and thousands of miles of ATV and dirt bike trails. Hunting and fishing possibilities are unlimited in the area, with some nationally known destinations nearby. To top it all off, you can live less than a 10-minute commute to work and within walking distance of an elementary and junior high school.

If you want to help usher in the next phase of the storage revolution come join our team and if you’re really ambitious and want a leg up on the competition, send us a short description of a project you worked on using your Linux device driver experience as part of your application.

Looking for BSEE or BSCS or equivalent work experience plus a minimum of 5 years of Linux device driver development experience.
