Marketing Specialist

Looking for an organized, detail-oriented self-starter to serve as a Marketing Specialist I for First Interstate Bank. Must be able to successfully multi-task, manage multiple projects from kick-off to completion with a proven ability to meet project budgets, scope, and deadlines. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, serving as the first point of contact for all advertising-related inquiries from branch contacts and our advertising agency. This position will report directly to the Advertising Manager and will collaborate with internal team members, branch contacts, and outside partners as needed. A professional, customer service-based demeanor is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

Serve as the first point of contact for all branch advertising/marketing needs while working directly with the Advertising Manager to execute advertising campaigns for each market. Responsible for “gatekeeping” all advertising to-do’s and deadlines, copy editing and coordinating the production of all advertising and creative requests.

Assist Advertising Manager with branch-related media/public relations efforts and coordinate branch-related media events/appearances at the direction of the Advertising Manager.

Oversee FIB online store, ensuring all items maintain brand standards and quality commensurate with FIB’s vision, mission, and values. Respond to new requests; work with Customer Communications Manager and Advertising Manager as needed to approve new items, including logo and color usage.

Assist with compliance requirements by receiving, reviewing, and maintaining an inventory of ad clippings for compliance exams. Provide monthly report of findings to Advertising Manager.

Provide clerical office duties, including scanning of invoices, picking up mail, and ordering office supplies for the Marketing Department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Public Relations from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two years related experience. Previous banking experience preferred but not required.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Proven ability to plan and implement marketing projects with minimal supervision.

Strong written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to write ad copy, articles/columns, and promotional messages that achieve results. Solid verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external audiences. Excellent organization with strong attention to detail. Superb time management skills and problem solving ability. Proficiency in MS Office required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The employee must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The position requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, branch contacts, clients, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to work with moderate mathematical concepts and budgets. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
