Marketing Director

This position oversees all marketing and communications for Argosy Cruises and is responsible for the creation of a rolling 3-year marketing and communications strategy for all products. The Director of Marketing is responsible for the oversight of the marketing plan, comprehensive brand management, public relations strategy, leadership of the marketing team and supporting business development efforts in all departments. As a member of the executive team, the Director of Marketing collaborates with Sales, Shoreside Hospitality, Vessel Operations, and Island Operations to develop marketing initiatives, and drive growth for all revenue streams.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE – They are passionate about tourism, and most of all, hospitality. They’re an experienced marketer or public relations specialist with their finger on the pulse of industry trends. They deliver data-driven marketing campaigns while simultaneously integrating some serious creative chops. Their KPIs come in the form of increased revenue, amplified awareness and exposure, and creating big buzz. They are experts in digital marketing, brand management, and communications and have strong leadership and interpersonal skills. They have experience in multi-channel marketing for either an attraction or a multi-concept hospitality group. And finally, they’re a smart, hands on manager, a team player, impeccably organized, and possess a very strong attention to detail.


Essential Job Functions
:

  • Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of company objectives, and market characteristics.
  • Analyze and report monthly digital performance metrics and broader company marketing performance data to the Executive team.
  • Manage and drive overall digital marketing strategies including search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), and social presence (social reputation and social media).
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with the executive team, marketing team members, sales team members and marketing vendors to ensure clear scope and project progress.
  • Manage marketing suppliers/external vendor relationships
  • Oversee and develops website content, online search/marketing and website statistics
  • Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing staff and oversee their daily activities.
  • Liaise with outside media agency to identify, create, and enact purchasing strategies to ensure brand proliferation and increment revenues
  • Support Sales Department regarding promotional and tactical marketing, and electronic media.
  • Ensure special and ad-hoc projects for operating departments are executed in a timely manner.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate activities designed to create or maintain a favorable public image of the company, including relationships with local community and public officials.


Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a similar field or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years Marketing experience, which included at least three (3) years of people supervisory/management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Speak, read and write in clear English.
  • Solid English writing skills with solid grammar and spelling.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with attention to quality and detail
  • Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively manage the department
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, individually and in groups
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of marketing professionals
  • In-depth proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and other relevant software
  • Personal computer and software:

    • Advanced (preferred level)- MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook-Email, Tasks, Calendar
