Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a Graphic Designer to work with its football program, assisting primarily with recruiting. Among the responsibilities are: working with the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and Brand Management, the Football staff and Creative Services staff to develop, maintain and advance the brand’s identity through original and creative design concepts, producing designs for a variety of print and web-based materials including, but not limited to: recruiting graphics, social media graphics, posters, signage and large-scale facility graphics, website and e-mail graphics, logos and varied promotional materials. Expedite, organize and track a large and varying workflow involving multiple deadlines. Archive and organize files, projects and art and fulfill requests. Assist in creative direction of photo shoots. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign required. Expertise in QuarkXPress, Adobe Acrobat and After Effects preferred. Strong written, editing and verbal communication skills and the ability to supervise student and part-time staff preferred. Requires night and weekend work, including the possibility of working home football games.
