Market Researcher/Consumer Insights Manager

Job Summary

Designs and executes market research studies from data available to the organization as well as from secondary market research sources. Analyzes and presents results to marketing and product development decision makers. Designs, implements and leads market research studies with little or no precedent; manages ongoing market research projects; and may lead other analyses. Focuses on collecting and sharing information from multiple sources regarding industry trends and competitive intelligence to include understanding of handsets, features, plans, markets and channel by carrier.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Collect data on consumers, competitors, and market place and consolidate information into actionable items, reports, and presentations.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it
  • Participate in internal client project meetings to ensure projects run smoothly and objectives are understood
  • Guide project through internal approval process, from development/proposal stage to final PO generation
  • Design surveys based on business objectives
  • Program surveys online using survey software tool (Qualtrics)
  • Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations
  • Assist with secondary research sources, determining company needs, working with vendors on contracts, and distributing to appropriate company business units.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skill set:

  • Proven market research analysis experience
  • Strong knowledge of data collection methods, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, or similar), databases, and MS Office
  • Ability to work independently/manage multiple projects

Preferred located is Overland Park, KS, but will consider candidates from other areas as a remote position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
  • Three years managing large complex projects with significant impact on the business
  • Three years interpreting market trends and/or results and translating into marketing implications
  • Three years vendor management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with online survey programming tools (ability to take a written survey and program into online survey tool)
  • Experience with wireless industry
  • Experience with research related to brand/advertising, product concepts, new offers/pricing, retention
  • Experience using secondary research sources and working with secondary research firms
