Marine Electrician

Helix Resources has immediate opportunities for marine electricians to work on a project in Seattle, WA. Pay for this position will be $23.00/hr. and $34.50/hr. on Overtime. Per Diem will be paid at $50. Housing is providing on location and travel to and from work site is provided. Schedule will be 6 days / 56 hours per week, 4 10’s and 2 8’s. This job is scheduled to last 4 months, but long term opportunities are a strong possibility. Marine Electrician Job Details:

Performs complex electrical service and repair tasks on boats utilizing various power and hand-tools.. Ability to install complete electrical systems..

Essential Duties:

• Installs wiring, fixtures, and equipment for electrical service, motors, pumps, and switches.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Wires and connects electrical systems, completing circuitry and testing systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
• Drills holes in bulkhead and cabin to mount panels and fixtures.
• Has the ability to troubleshoot system problems and provide creative solutions for difficult system installations.
• Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.
• Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Qualifications:

Vocational technical school degree/certification, Boat building, Military Trade, Electrical Apprenticeship, High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) ABYC Certification Preferred knowledge of power and hand tools: drills, saws, drill press, heat gun, soldering iron, multi-meter, wrenches, test equipment for marine electrical equipment. Minimum of 5 years of marine electrical background. Basic computer skills.
