Manufacturing Engineer I

Mission: Continuously improve production processes with engineering solutions in accordance with corporate policies and strategic goals & objectives in order to achieve a safe work environment, customer satisfaction, and desired return on investment.

    • Responsibilities:
      Accountabilities: 

      • Analyzes processes in order to identify improvement opportunities in quality, safety, and productivity
      • Identifies and implements opportunities for efficiency improvements through programs such as Lean and 6 Sigma (DMAIC)
      • Identifies and implements new opportunities for technology process improvements
      • Designs fixture/tooling design and ergonomics improvements and Mistake Proofing Constraints
      • Creates and monitors metrics and Key Process Indicators (KPI)
      • Verifies and validates new processes based on Standard Operating Procedures 
      • Documents current processes
      • Participates in measurement and monitoring methods in alignment with ISO9001 and other improvement initiatives
      • Collects and validates data in order to implement process improvements
      • Supports all new product technology programs as they move from development to production
      • Assists designing reviews with DFM/A, PFMEA, and Control Plan input
      • Participates in and supports HSE projects and procedures, including Behavior Observations, Training, Ergonomics, and Investigations

      Qualifications:
      Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (or related) required
      • Experience with manufacturing processes and processes improvement methods (e.g., PDCA, DMAIC, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S, etc.)
      • Experience with Solid Modeling; SolidWorks preferred
      • Understanding of GD&T and inspection methods
      • Strong business orientation
      • Ability to work closely and communicate with all levels of the organization
      • Intermediate MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills; familiarity with MS Access
      • Will be working around high magnets – cannot have any medically implanted devices
