POSITION:
Manufacturing Engineer

DEPARTMENT:

REPORTS TO:
Operations Manager

FUNCTION:

To develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, applications and fabrication processes while supporting production goals, quality and cost objectives. A focus on continuous improvements is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design machinery, tooling, processes and procedures for current products and future products.
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve current issues related to tooling, materials, process and gages.
• Drive continuous improvement while supporting quality, cost, delivery, service, and safety.
• Develop, maintain and standardize documentation for equipment, tooling, gages and processes.
• Work with other groups/divisions inside Bostitch and Stanley, and outside groups such as Stanley
  affiliates and vendors to implement projects and tasks as needed.
• Manage assigned projects

REQUIREMENTS:

• 7+ years in metal forming preferably steel stamping utilizing progressive dies and high speed presses.
• Experience with high volume manufacturing process is preferred.
• Understanding of machine controls and integration a plus
• Must have strong project planning skills to prioritize tasks and establish framework and systems for managing areas of responsibility.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with all levels of employees
• Skills in Pro-Engineer(ProE) or AutoCad a must.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering field (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Knowledge of ISO9001/14001 a plus
