The Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, setup, modify, optimize, and monitor Jorgensen Forge manufacturing processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Company policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and safety requirements in process development.
  • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
  • Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
  • Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Collaborating with configuration control and design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods.
  • Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with quality assurance functions.
  • Providing engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Having e a working knowledge of Machine Shop practices, Lean Manufacturing and a demonstrated history of process improvement.
  • Analyzing process capabilities, establishing standards and defining manufacturing processes.
  • Calculating production costs, analyze available production resources and assist Management in planning for future growth of the organization.
  • Researching and creating new methods of Manufacturing processes and recommend the organization needed to achieve maximum production capacity and efficiency.
  • Coordinating with the Maintenance Manager on major repair and equipment upgrades/replacement projects as necessary.
  • “Hand On” Machining required to support shafting.

Skills and Specifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and machining concepts.
  • Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
  • Must be a good communicator.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering from an accredited college.
  • Engineering experience in manufacturing, machining operations, or equivalent field, min five years,
  • Knowledge of SMED (single minute exchange of dies), Kaizen, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance)
  • Project Management experience
  • Desired- LSSGB (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt)
