Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement principles and techniques in design and manufacturing areas.
  • Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
  • Work closely, and in partnership, with management team to ensure that all customer needs are anticipated and met.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess

    feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of

    modification.

  • Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer

    requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and

    materials; soliciting observations from operators.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-

    generated reports.

  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures,

    resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

  • Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods

    relevant to manufacturing processes.

  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error;

    determining levels of confidence.

  • Participate in APQP meetings
  • Monitor Plant progress; publish program status; report feedback to APQP teams
  • Comply with all company, safety and OSHA standards and policies
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools

    or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making

    recommendations.

  • Select tools, equipment, or technologies for use in operations or projects.
  • Advise customers on the use of products or services.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required and/or industrial engineering experience with Bachelor Degree in an Engineering field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation is required.
  • Computer skills should include experience with drafting & calculation software,

    AutoCAD, and Microsoft, Adobe & similar Office systems.

  • Minimum 4 years related experience in Mechanical Engineering preferably in a manufacturing engineering environment.
