Manufacturing Engineer

Summary:
Work integrally with machine operators, engineers, CNC programmers and other plant personnel in the analysis of process problems, troubleshooting machining and assembly equipment problems as are appropriate to proper process operation.

• Special projects (including project management, programming, machining, braze process design, weld process design, specifying materials needed, determining process of assembly and manufacture, meeting with and consulting consumers, and any other requirement.
• All new product integrations duties (NPI Engineering).
• First Part Qualification.
• Machining fixture design.
• Weld/tacking fixture design.
• Gage design.
• Solid model design.
• Determination of root cause/corrective action.
• Lean/six sigma ideas, design, implementation, and efficiency measurement.
• Meet/call tooling vendors regarding issues, replacements, discontinuations, and process improvements.
• R & D projects (EB welding tests, GTAW welding tests, machining tests, etc).
• Specification and procurement of new machines.
• Machine maintenance assessment.
• Purchase requisitions.
• Routing maintenance/updating.
• Programming.
• Program support.
• Floor support/troubleshooting.
• Machine setup support.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and abilities:

• Ability to read prints, specifications, material descriptions.
• Strong at Methods/Process/Quality planning.
• Costing.
• CNC Programming (Esprit).
• Experience with working with large clients: i.e. GE, Siemens, Rolls Royce, Caterpillar.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in a metal machining manufacturing environment
