Upgrade, Inc. is a new consumer credit platform that combines personal loans with tools that help consumers understand, monitor and improve their credit. The company raised $60 million in its first capital raise last year, which remains the largest Series A round ever raised by a fintech company. While the founding team is very accomplished and the business model has been well established, we are still in the early days of this new platform and there is still an opportunity to have a very significant impact.

We are looking for new team members who get excited about creating, designing and implementing new and better solutions to join a team of just over 250 talented and passionate fintech engineers, product, credit, finance, legal, compliance, design, operations and marketing professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with members of the Risk team, to review and enhance Upgrade’s underwriting practice (strategy, credit policy, and model use) to achieve results within Upgrade’s credit risk tolerance;
  • Develop data-driven collection strategies, line management strategies, and loss forecasting;
  • Monitor loan performance through hands on analysis;
  • Develop periodic reporting templates and requirements;
  • Obtain subject matter expertise in internal and external data sources and ensure data integrity;
  • Document policy and procedural changes.

Skills:
  • 5+ years in consumer credit risk role at a financial institution (Fintech lender experience preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS, SQL, VBA, Python or R
  • Detail oriented and strong analytic skill set
  • Good communicator with the ability to discuss / present complex issues in a simple manner
  • Proactive, driven, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • FinTech experience
