Manager of Communications

NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans seeks a seasoned professional to manage all external communications. The ideal candidate will have corporate and/or nonprofit experience in creating and executing a communications strategy, which includes print, web, social media, and the press. Must have experience with the following:

• content management systems (CMS) (Drupal for website, WordPress for blog, and Constant Contact for eNewsletters)
• professional use of social media platforms
• basic Adobe Suites skills
• managing press inquiries and writing press releases
• Understanding and knowledge of IT environment

The Manager of Communications is responsible for maintaining branding across all platforms, guiding freelance and volunteer graphic designers to create on-brand materials, and writing content for annual reports, brochures, social media, eNewsletters and more. Must be ready to jump in and hit the ground running on existing projects, and also bring fresh ideas of your own. Must have excellent writing and interpersonal skills and an ability to express (in writing) an appreciation for the human-animal bond.
