Manager – Marketing and Commmunications

The Manager of Marketing and Communications provides direction and support for the marketing communications team, and is responsible for brand, communications and marketing strategy and execution of programs for Denver Health and its related entities. Participates in strategic planning; preparing contracts; conducting process improvements; managing staff and developing performance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations, or related field. Masters’ degree preferred.

Experience: The typical candidate will have eight to twelve years’ experience in consumer brand marketing and healthcare, working in all functional brand marketing communications disciplines and all media channels (owned, earned & paid). Experience should include: insight, research and strategy; brand strategy; agency management; customer experience and activation, marketing campaign planning, execution, and measurement. The successful applicant will have strong commercial experience and sound judgment in assessing the financial performance of marketing programs to ensure the achievement of business goals. This is particularly important in developing programs that are financially sustainable and commercially viable. Staff management and leadership experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General: Effective communication skills to interact with Denver Health’s current internal customers; its current and prospective external customers, as well as all levels of Denver Health management and stakeholders. The ability to perform financial and strategic analyses including forecasting, assisting in exploring strategic options and the development of creative solutions to complex business issues. The ability to interpret and analyze financial and statistical information in making sound recommendations: to gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable alternative solutions and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative. The ability to lead a team and achieve results while considering the needs of a wide group of stakeholders, and navigating what at times may be, ambiguous issues. The ability to work cooperatively in an integrated team environment. Service-oriented working style, excellent organizational abilities, and strong interpersonal skills. Self-starter and independent thinker who works with very limited supervision and guidance. Routinely promotes positive customer service in dealing with patients, visitors, outside people, and other employees as evidenced by cooperation, responsiveness, and helpfulness. Uses time productively coordinating with others to achieve common goals and objectives, and models excellent team leadership, motivation and communication skills. Specific: Knowledge of healthcare privacy laws and regulations relating to marketing and communications in the healthcare field.
